Just in case you haven't seen the cover of The Straits Times main section today, a JI terrorist leader has escaped from the Singapore detention centre. Following what happened, the massive hunt begun with police, Gurkha and Special Operations Command (SOC) officers fanning out several kilometres from Goldhill Ave (near Barker Road), to Beauty World shopping centre (Bt Timah)!

Sorry I know this is supposed to be really serious and all, but up to Bt Timah!? That is quite exhilarating. Maybe he is eating at Al-Ameen and nobody knows. Haha. Tsk tsk.. Kidding.


On a serious note, Mas Selamat Kastari was Singapore's most wanted man, and was behind a plot to crash a hijacked plane into Changi Airport.

The first burning question in my mind after realising that he had escaped from a Singapore detention centre was - How the hell did he escape!?!!?

Singapore has such strict security controls, it was probably impossible for him to escape from the centre on his own. Was there an inside job involved?!? In addition, my assumption is that since he was limping, he could not have run that far. If he had some sort of detention centre uniform on, he could not have travelled via taxi because the driver would have probably reported it. Unless he wasn't, and threatened the driver, which was why even if he had no money, he could leave the area. OR, somebody helped him escape. (Which brings us back to my 2nd question in bold)

Oh and the funny thing is that the police didn't even issue a statement to inform the public what he was last seen wearing. I don't know. I think there are a lot of secrets to this.

In any case I hope he gets arrested soon, because people are freaking out, especially at areas where the searches are being conducted. *Prays hard nothing happens*
